Happiness is a feeling, not a destination

I was watching this tv show and one of the characters said something that really hit me.
He said something along the lines of, "Happiness is a feeling NOT a destination". I couldn't agree more. Let me first explain the quote. Most of us relate happiness to acquiring something we want. For instance, thinking that I would be happy if i get that car, if i get to be with the love of my life, if i got a high paying job etc. This I feel is one of the major reasons why most of us struggle to be happy because when we finally get these things, we might want something else. In all these wanting and getting, we forget the most important thing; being happy! Yes, happiness is what you feel. Its an emotion. It is a choice. YOUR CHOICE!
Now i know what you must be thinking. It's never as easy as that and i agree with you! Life is a lot more complicated than just deciding to be happy and wolaah, you are happy! For all those looking for answers, I have good news. I have what you are looking for! :)
First thing to remember is that you will never be completely happy or content with your life until you are complete inside. I am going to explain this in as much detail as possible because this is important. What you need to do is, remember that you don't need anything or anyone else to make you happy. You should be able to be alone and be content with it. The only way to do that is by having positive thoughts. Again, i know it's easier said than done. To give an example, lets imagine a scenario in which you just split up with who you thought was the love of your life. What could be the positive thoughts for this? Well for one, you could think that if things were as good as they should be in a relationship, you wouldn't be sitting here alone wallowing in self pity. Just like this, make a habit of trying to derive the positive out of everything whether good or bad. Soon this will become a habit and being happy and positive will come naturally to you. Hope this helps! :)

How to Motivate Yourself at Work

celebrate the goal
Motivation at work

Motivation is rather elusive, isn’t it? Some days you feel it and other days you can't achieve no matter how hard you try. You keep on staring at your computer screen, willing to do work but you don't have that motivation which makes you do it. Instead, your brain is full of other stuff which in fact makes you uninspired and you have no idea how to get the motivation.
Read on for some tips to get the motivation and the energy to make it happen at work.

Don't think about it as Hard work
There is only one way for me to motivate myself about it: I don't think it as a hard work rather focusing on the moment when it will be done. I just think about the feeling to have it done.

Divide and Conquer
I hope you have heard about this phrase: Divide and Conquer, haven't you? if yes,  have you applied it to motivation? if you know the picture then it would be a piece of a cake to place the blocks and to win the game, isn't it? So rather than focusing on a large and daring goal, divide it into chunks and break the big goal into ideas which could be easily digested.

Don't pay attention to diversions
You should look carefully at your to-do list and shave off anything which is just a diversion or unnecessary for you to do. It won't be best to end up on oppositely to what you have started for at the first place.

Have little breaks
You should have little breaks in order to refresh your mind.you must have your meals because with an empty stomach you won't be able to think fast and work efficiently. Within break, you should take fresh air, relax and calm your mind. Only then you will be able to complete your work and think on the solution if facing any obstacle.

Make it Happen
For me, to get motivated and to start doing something is to just do it(sounds banal, but it works). As soon as you make a decision to do the thing, just jump into it, do it by ignoring all the other stuff and suppressing all other thoughts. This way you would be able to complete your task and would make it happen.

Appreciate yourself & celebrate the win
The feeling after completing your task is very strong, makes you happier and motivated for the next tasks. You should celebrate that feeling of accomplishment which makes you think that you need more wins in life. You shouldn't discount those little wins. You should appreciate yourself on these wins, which eventually leads you to the motivation for the next goal.

What other motivations tricks work for you? Let me know in comments.
